The opening to the slipper is very small. I had to take out the footbed until it loosens up a bit. They are nice and warm and fluffy.I love them! Pretty much wear them all the time, also very warm wearing them outsideWould buy them again! Hands down! These are fine, but the lining isn't as soft as I remember. Granted it's been 8 years since I ordered my last pair because they last a very long time. Maybe the lining softens up as I wear them. Still my go to boot slipper for comfort and warmth.I had to kiss a lot of frogs to finally find these perfect slippers. I have an orthopedic problem with one of my big toes and these slippers have a nice roomy toe box. They are so cozy now that the weather is colder. The fit is very good, I wear a size 7 and I especially like the fact that the insole comes out so if you wear orthotics, you have that option also you can replace the insole if it wears out. I love Ugg’s but the non removable insole renders the slippers unusable after they wear out. Not so with these new friends! I’m very hopeful that they will prove to be “old friends”.I never write reviews but I love these slippers! My feet get really cold working remotely (too much sitting) and these are the best for keeping them warm! You can't run a marathon in them, they are slippers but they are great for puttering around the house and keeping the feet nice and toasty!I’ve now purchased five (!) pairs of these Old Friend Slippers within the past three years...not because they wear out, but because they are so cozy and well made that my daughters keep “borrowing” them and then never giving them back! I’ve gotten them in all three colors so now we can tell each other’s slippers apart. The real sheepskin is very thick and soft, the suede is high quality and stain-resistant, and the rubber sole is sturdy and tough. The sole comes up high enough to handle the wet ground and even puddles — perfect for going outside to grab the newspaper or the mail on a cold wet morning. I tend to be hard on my slippers by wearing them while I’m puttering outside; these slippers never wear out. (They’re so cozy, I’ve even caught myself wearing these to Starbucks, forgetting I still had slippers on.) And unlike other slippers I’ve tried, the fleece lining of these slippers stays soft and plush and doesn’t get mashed down over time. Also, these slippers are great year-round. They’re really warm in the winter, but somehow they’re not too hot in the summer. I’ve spilled water, food and other things on the suede, but the it doesn’t seem to stain. And I didn’t pre-treat the suede with stain guard...go figure.Size-wise, they run a little bit on the small size. If you’re normally a half-size, I’d recommend going up a size. (Ex: if you’re usually a size 7.5, get the 8.)These slippers cost a bit more than most slippers but they are worth every penny. They are made with high-quality materials and are very well made. They will last for years — unless you’re like me and someone “borrows” them.Like most reviewers, I agree that these run one-half to a full size too small. In defense however, this is common to the entire slipper industry. No matter what brand I find all slippers run small. Old Friend is a fantastic brand, you should buy them. This bootee style is super comfy, soft, and warm - I love them! I was only able to order one-half size up since I am an 11.5 and the largest women's size is a 12. I was nervous to keep them because when you first put them on they are at their fluffiest, and my toes were sort of hitting up against the end so I was worried they would be too small. However I decided to keep them and I'm so glad I did! After just a couple days of wearing them the fur inside compacts down a little and they fit just fine! Five stars!I am purchasing another pair today and I normally wear size 8 with a normal width. When the first pair came, I was concerned they would be too wide, but they fit perfectly. I live in these slippers so I need a new pair every 2-3 years and the 8W is fine when I have never purchase I wide shoe or slipper before. The new ones feel very comfortable but when you wear them most every day all the time and you CAN go outside in them, the inside starts to feel less comfortable and that is why I just purchase my fourth pair today. I will not receive them for a few days, but assume they will be awesome as all of these purchase from Zappos and Amazon have been to date. They are not intended to last forever and I love to have a new pair for next winter. Likely I will try them on when they arrive and if they are like my past 3 pairs, I will store them for winter 2020. These are the best slippers out there for me and I highly recommend them to anyone unless they have very narrow feet. If you are medium width as I am normally, my guess is they will likely NOT feel too wide. They never have for me and I am very sensitive to width. Awesome slippers! The slippers have really stretched out since I got them (only months now) and I haven't worn them that much. The lamb is pretty thin and burns my feet when wearing. Not anything like what they were like. Pricey! Should have bought from Costco and forget the brand name!Very disappointed. Workmanship? These slippers used to be top of the line, unfortunately no longer! Most likely will be returning for this very reason, :( Good Bye Old Friend!
