UPDATE: WOW. I'm upgrading my original review to 5 stars. I've had these slippers for more than 3 years now, and they're still going strong. I am getting ready to order new insoles today. But, the outer rubber soles are firmly attached. All of the stitching is still intact and in place. They may be dirty, but by God they've held together better than I could have ever expected.Trust me when I tell you that these slippers have been through the ringer. Many days, these are my goto shoes. I've worn them outside in rainy weather and in ice and snow (although, I don't really recommend it. Lol). I'm a Luthier (I build guitars) and I've worn them in my shop. To put it bluntly, I've abused these poor slippers in every conceivable way.Surprisingly, the lining is still in good shape. I'd say that there is another 2 years left. Yes, I'm replacing the insoles today, but given the fact that I wear these slippers more than any shoe, I'd say 3 years is more than long enough for any insole (more than long enough for any shoe). But, I'm amazed at the resilience of the shearling and the outer suede material.The outer suede may be dirty, but it's as strong as the day I bought the slippers. There is a little shine along the edge of the heel, but no thinning of the material at all, not even in the area of the big toe.They've even survived 2 German Shepherd puppies! Luckily, I rescued my beloved slippers before they were "herded" to death . My Isabella loved to take them to bed with her to sleep with them. So, you can see the chewed lace on the left slipper. What can I say? They're Shepherds!Even the Old Friends Logo is firmly intact on both slippers.I ended up reordering the size 8 and they worked out fine. Yes, they run big, but they are worth every penny. I took pictures for you. Yes, I know the insoles are gross, and I'm replacing them today.If you're on the fence about buying these slippers, please take the chance. This is a good review of the quality put into these slippers.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I wear a size 8. I double checked the shoe sizing chart, offered by amazon. I am indeed a size 8. However, when I got the slippers, they were so large, that they came off of my heels. I realize that the size I ordered had to fit a size 9 foot (they fit 8-9), however the slippers were very wide and entirely too long. I welcome the width, since I wear a wide width due to a problem in my left foot; in fact, I was worried that they would be too narrow, as most shoes and slippers are for me. I was not prepared to have them come completely off, even with heavy socks. Although I had a sizing problem and sent the slippers back to Amazon, I give these slippers 4 stars for quality (5 if they would have fit). The soles are heavy and appeared to be well attached. The stitching was heavy duty and well done, and I suspect that they will be comfortable. I'll reorder these slippers in a smaller size; I hope they fit. I'll update this post when I get the smaller size.
